Grace and Tippi are twins – conjoined twins.
And their lives are about to change.
No longer able to afford homeschooling, they must venture into the world – a world of stares, sneers and cruelty. Will they find more than that at school? Can they find real friends? And what about love?
But what neither Grace or Tippi realises is that a heart-wrenching decision lies ahead. A decision that could tear them apart. One that will change their lives even more than they ever imagined…
Firstly, this cover… I love how beautifully simplistic it is! As it the whole book. I haven’t read a book written in verse for a few years and I don’t know why because they are absolutely amazing. It work so well in One with the themes of the book and left me with a haunting feeling.
The characters of this book are so developed, even though there are so few words! Tippi and Grace are perfectly perfect and their friends Jon and Yasmeen are equally perfect; so realistically flawed. I wish I had friends like them.
The family dynamics, though unfortunate, I imagine are quite accurate for people in their situation.
This book tells of the cruelty and kindness of humanity, reminds us to be grateful for life and everything we have, and makes us believe that soulmates could be real. This book is so profound and contains such important messages; I highly recommend it to everyone.
